Material Donations

Accepted materials include books, CDs and DVDs like new or in good condition. Materials are reviewed for inclusion in the Friends used book sales and possibly for the library collection. Items deemed in poor condition or of little interest will be discarded through a recycling program. All book sale proceeds benefit library programs and services. Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

  • We Accept

    •Audio-visual formats including DVD, vinyl records and books on CD
    •Magazines
    •Hardcovers and paperbacks
    •Unused puzzle books, coloring books and journals
    •Clean, gently-used material

  • We Do Not Accept

    •Encyclopedias
    •Materials discarded from other libraries
    •Out-of-date materials, such as medical, computer and finance older than 5 years
    •VHS or cassette tapes
    •Torn, water-damaged, and/or moldy materials

Where to Donate

All library locations accept small donations (the size of a paper grocery bag). For large donations (several boxes of materials) please go to the Headquarters Library at 300 Maiden Lane, to the back parking lot off Ray Avenue. Ring the doorbell next to the garage door for assistance. Donations are accept Monday thru Friday 9:30 to 3:30.

Note: Please do not leave donations outside the library.
